International Baccalaureate
MYP The MYP curriculum framework comprises eight subject groups, providing a broad and balanced education for early adolescents. Students take the core courses of language and literature, individuals and societies, mathematics, science, physical and health education, language acquisition, arts and design.
Technology Pathway 1
CTE Computer Science Program Students will have the opportunity to take advantage of a CTE Computer Science sequence that leads to a CTE endorsed diploma, computer science certifications and ready experiences (Cisco Certify Support Tech, Network Plus, Security Plus). It can take the place of a fifth Regents exam for a Regents or Local Diploma.
Civics Pathways 2
NYS Civics Seal Program Distinction on student diplomas that encourages civic knowledge and participation through experiential learning as it applies to law and social justice. It lets employers and post-secondary institutions know that students have developed the competencies central to being an active member of a community and society. It can stand for a fifth Regents exam for a Regents or Local Diploma.
ASD NEST
The ASD Nest Program is a city-wide program in NYC that serves students with autism who are able to learn alongside general education peers in public schools. This is Nelson Mandela’s third year in the ASD NEST program. Nest students are uniquely immersed in the Mandela community and are some of our premier student leaders.

Students will have the opportunity to travel outside of the country before graduation. This year students will participate in our inaugural trip to South Africa. Every year students will be given a chance to travel to different places around the world (South America, Caribbean, etc.).
